In order to receive an allocation of NMTC from the CDFI Fund, you must first be certified as a Community Development Entity (CDE).The basic requirements to be a CDE are:● Be a legal entity at the time of application;● Have a primary mission of serving Low-Income Communities (LICs);AND● Maintain accountability to the residents of targeted LICs.If you don’t meet these basic qualifications, you can’t be a CDE and receive your own NMTC Allocation.If you do meet these qualifications, there is an application procedure.
